Moldovan President Maia Sandu has expressed the opinion that conditions for resolving the Transnistrian conflict may arise after the end of Ukraine's war with Russia. She said this in an interview with France 24.
"We believe that when Ukraine wins the war, there may be a geopolitical opportunity to resolve the Transnistrian conflict. But on condition that this happens peacefully. In the meantime, we are preparing for this geopolitical opportunity," Sandu said.
She also expressed hope that after the conflict is resolved, Moldova will be able to become a member of the European Union.
The Moldovan president also expressed gratitude to Ukrainian defenders who, in addition to their country, also protect Moldova's interests.
