Natalia Humeniuk, a representative of the Southern Defense Forces, said that during the night attack in Odesa region there was a "very serious risk" for passengers of a bus that was preparing to cross the border. She said this during a telethon. The burnt-out trucks were in the waiting area at the checkpoint during the hit.
"The attack was aimed again at the port and border infrastructure and the Danube region. The border infrastructure at the international checkpoint was damaged," said Humeniuk.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces also reported that last night, as a result of the Russian attack, there were hits to port and border infrastructure. "Stabilization measures are being taken at the international checkpoint, and passage operations have been suspended. Vehicular traffic is temporarily reoriented through the nearest checkpoints," the Armed Forces said in a statement.
