Blocking of the Ukrainian-Polish border: the SBGS spoke about the situation

Andriy Demchenko, a representative of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, reported the latest data on the situation at the Ukrainian-Polish border, where truck traffic is being blocked, during a telethon.

He noted that the blocking of truck traffic by Polish farmers continues. As before, these are six directions. These are the checkpoints of Yagodyn, Ustyluh, Uhryniv, Rava-Ruska, Shehyni and Krakowiec.

"As of this morning, according to the information we have from our Polish colleagues, a total of 2,450 trucks are waiting in line to cross the border into Ukraine at all six of these directions in Poland. Most of them are opposite the Krakowiec, Rava-Ruska and Shehyni checkpoints," said Demchenko.

At the same time, he noted a significant decrease in the number of border crossings by trucks in recent days. This is especially critical in the direction of Yagodyn and Shehyni checkpoints.

"For example, only 60 trucks crossed the border at Shehynia yesterday: 40 - towards Ukraine and 20 - towards Poland. And in the direction of the Yagodyn checkpoint, 70 trucks crossed the border in the direction of our country, and not a single truck crossed the border in the direction of Poland," said the SBGS spokesman.

He added that Polish farmers do not actually let any truck moving from Ukraine to Poland through Yagodyn.

"They let several trucks through in an hour in all directions: both in the direction of Ukraine and Poland. But, again, this is not an intensive traffic," said Demchenko.

For other categories of transport, traffic is not yet blocked. In particular, it is about cars and buses. Speaking about alternative transportation routes for carriers, due to the situation on the Polish border, the spokesman said that there is currently a certain increase in queues at the borders with Slovakia and Hungary.

"As of this morning, there are about 500 trucks in line in Slovakia, opposite our Uzhhorod checkpoint, and about 800 trucks in Hungary, opposite the Tisa checkpoint, waiting to cross the border to Ukraine," he said.

Demchenko emphasized that there is no blocking on the other side of the border in these areas, and intensive traffic is ensured there.
