Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi strongly condemned the US military strikes on three of the country’s major nuclear facilities, calling the attack a “grave violation” of international law and warning of lasting consequences.
In a social media post, Araghchi said:
“The United States, a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, has committed a grave violation of the UN Charter, international law and the NPT by attacking Iran’s peaceful nuclear installations.
The events this morning are outrageous and will have everlasting consequences. Each and every member of the UN must be alarmed over this extremely dangerous, lawless and criminal behavior.”
He added that Iran “reserves all options to defend its sovereignty, interests, and people”, citing Article 51 of the UN Charter, which allows states to respond in self-defense.
The strikes, announced earlier by former President Donald Trump, targeted Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan — key sites in Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. According to defense sources, the attack involved a combination of GBU-57 bunker-busting bombs dropped from B-2 stealth bombers and Tomahawk cruise missiles launched from US submarines.
