Advisor to the Ukrainian ambassador to Georgia Andrey Kasianov says that he is surprised by the statements of separate Georgian politicians who are trying  to link the country’s internal political issues with current developments in Ukraine.

The Georgian Dream ruling party head Irakli Kobakhidze stated earlier this week that recalling the Ukrainian ambassador for consultations by President Volodymyr Zelensky could be connected with the ‘radical Georgian United National Movement party which aims to drag the country into the conflict.’

Kasianov said that currently Ukrainians are fighting for the whole Europe, including for Georgia, and a political status of an individual carries no importance for them if the individuals decide to provide any support.

He thanked the Georgian people for expressing  support and for humanitarian aid, as well as for the support in international formats and resolutions against Russia.
