The Bulgarian government says that Gazprom will cut off natural gas provision to the country starting today.

Russia will also suspend gas provision to Poland.

Poland has said it “will manage” after Russia cut gas supplies on Wednesday.

According to the Bulgarian Ministry of Energy, the country has taken concrete steps to ensure alternative gas suppliers and has also informed the citizens that there is no need to limit gas consumption at this moment.

Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a decree earlier this month, demanding  countries that buy gas from Russia to pay in rubles, to which EU member states refuse to accept.
