A tragic incident occurred on Monday, May 5, in Akhaltsikhe, where a 2-year-old child died at a private kindergarten. The news was first reported by the local outlet Samkhretis Karibche.

According to the publication, the child’s body has been transferred to a morgue. Forensic experts are currently working at the scene.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched an investigation under Article 116 of Georgia’s Criminal Code, which pertains to “negligent homicide.” The offense is punishable by six months to two years of house arrest or two to four years of imprisonment.
