Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili on the occasion of Georgia’s Independence Day.

In his congratulatory message, Lukashenko described the holiday as a symbol of the Georgian people’s resilience, unity and strong spirit.

The Belarusian president said he was confident Georgia would continue progressing along a path of sustainable development, strengthening state institutions and improving the wellbeing of its citizens.

Lukashenko also expressed hope for further expansion of cooperation between Minsk and Tbilisi in trade, economic, humanitarian and cultural fields for the benefit of both nations.
