The European Union has suspended programs that provided direct benefits to the Georgian government. However, Georgia’s Minister of Education, Science, and Youth, Aleksandre Tsuladze, clarified that this decision does not impact student, researcher, or academic exchange programs.

Citing an official statement from EU representatives, Tsuladze emphasized that “the decision does not apply to student, researcher, and academic exchange programs, joint research projects, or scholarship programs, including Erasmus+ and DAAD.”

He explained that the suspension only concerns future cooperation between Georgia’s Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth and Germany’s Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

“I find the political motives and interests behind this situation shocking, and we will discuss them in due course,” Tsuladze added.
