German Ambassador to Georgia Peter Fischer on Friday said he met with Levan Zhorzholiani, Head of the Government Administration, to ask if German Government payments could be exempt from the Grants Law, since they are already agreed in previous treaties between the two countries.

“A legit legal question. Answer: No,” Fischer wrote on social media.

The Ambassador added that Germany would adjust its approach going forward.

“Germany will focus future finance on friends with low administrative cost,” he said.
