Armenia’s Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, has expressed optimism about the prospect of signing a peace agreement with Azerbaijan in the near future. Pashinyan stated that this possibility hinged on Baku confirming the principles previously agreed upon by the leaders of both nations.

“If Azerbaijan affirms these principles, the signing of a peace agreement in the near future becomes highly plausible,” Pashinyan said.

The Armenian leader outlined three key principles from his country’s perspective, which include the opening of regional transport connections with a commitment to preserving the sovereignty of the nations through which they traverse, mutual acknowledgment of the territorial integrity of Armenia (29,800 sq.km) and Azerbaijan (86,600 sq.km), and the resolution of the latest border delineation based on Soviet-era maps.
