US military group donates emergency equipment worth $234,150 to Georgia’s Interior Ministry

As part of bilateral cooperation between Georgia and the United States, representatives of the US Military Group have handed over firefighting and communication equipment worth USD 234,150 to the Emergency Management Service of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the Interior Ministry, Deputy Minister Aleksandre Darakhvelidze and Head of the Emergency Management Service Temur Mgebrishvili hosted a delegation of the US Military Group and the US Embassy’s Chargé d’Affaires, Alan Purcell, at the Emergency Management Service headquarters.
The meeting was also attended by the Head of the US Military Group, US Defense Attaché and the Bilateral Cooperation Officer.
The Georgian side expressed gratitude to the United States for its support. The Deputy Interior Minister noted that the donated special equipment and technology would significantly enhance the operational capabilities of firefighter-rescuers and contribute to more effective nationwide emergency response.
Members of the delegation also toured the Emergency Management Service’s Operational Management Center, where they were briefed on the center’s main functions and the specifics of emergency response operations, the ministry said.
