Azerbaijan Airlines has suspended flights to Kazan, marking the eleventh Russian city removed from its flight schedule. The decision comes amid ongoing closures of airspace in Kazan and heightened safety concerns following recent incidents in Russian airspace.

The suspension follows a deadly crash involving an Embraer 190 operated by the airline, which was reportedly struck by a Russian air defense system during a drone attack near Grozny. The crash claimed 38 lives and has prompted Azerbaijan Airlines to halt flights to several Russian cities, including Vladikavkaz, Volgograd, and Makhachkala, in addition to Kazan.

The airline emphasized its commitment to passenger safety and stated that it is monitoring the situation, pledging to provide updates on any changes.
