Bakuriani hosted the 2021 World Cup under the auspices of the International Ski Federation (FIS).
The 2021 World Cup stages in cross-country skiing and snowboarding were held under the auspices of the International Ski Federation (FIS) in strict compliance with COVID protocol, rules and regulations.
The Ski Cross World Cup stage kicked off on February 26, with the final held on February 27. On February 28, Bakuriani hosted the mixed team team competition within the framework of the World Cup for the first time.

Within the framework of the event, Georgia hosted about 200 athletes, the director of Ski Cross – Klaus Waldner and other representatives of the federation.
The competition was organized by the Mountain Resorts Development Company of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development with the support of the Government of Georgia and the Georgian Ski Federation.
Arrangement and construction of resort and sports infrastructure in Bakuriani was carried out in a record short time. The works did not stop even during the most difficult period of the pandemic. 3 new ropes were built especially for the competition, an artificial calculation system was installed, special equipment and safety equipment were purchased.
Holding a mountain sports tournament in Bakuriani will put the Georgian resort among the mountain-ski resorts where similar high-level sports competitions can be held.
