Two children fall into trench and die in Batumi’s “Dream City” area

A tragic accident occurred in Batumi, where two young children, aged 4 and 5, fell into a water-filled trench in the “Dream City” area and lost their lives.

According to reports, the children fell into an excavation site where construction work was ongoing. They were searched for several hours before being found.

The Batumi City Hall issued a statement confirming the incident near 188 Fridon Khalvashi Avenue:

“A tragic accident occurred in Batumi. Two minors fell into a water-filled trench, and unfortunately, their rescue was not possible. We express our deepest condolences and support to the families of the victims during this difficult time. The details of the incident will be determined by the Adjara Police Department as part of the ongoing investigation.”

Authorities are expected to further examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
