Biden re-urges Putin to take steps to de escalate tension with Ukraine

US President Joe Biden has urged Vladimir Putin once again yesterday to take steps to ease tension on Russia’s border with Ukraine,warning again of ‘dire economic consequences’ should Putin proceed with an invasion.

The phone call continued for 50-minute and, according to the following statements, did not yield any major results. 

Putin requested the telephone call earlier this week which Biden accepted, despite his attitude that nothing can replace direct conversations between heads of states. 

Russia is demanding from the US and NATO to change their policies towards Georgia and Ukraine.
