Georgia’s national rugby team secured a 38:17 victory over Canada on Saturday in the second match of the Autumn Test series, held in the country’s Black Sea city of Batumi.
The hosts opened the scoring early with a try from Aptsiauri. Canada responded with a penalty kick, narrowing the gap, but the Georgian team regained full control before halftime. Additional tries by Tapladze and Aptsiauri extended Georgia’s lead, sending the teams into the break at 17:3.
Georgia maintained dominance throughout the second half, scoring three more tries, all converted by Abzhandadze.
In the final 10 minutes, Georgia was reduced to 13 players, allowing Canada to score a try, but it did little to shift the outcome of the match.
Georgia will play its third Autumn Test on November 22 in the capital city of Tbilisi, where the team will host Japan at Mikheil Meskhi Stadium. The match is scheduled to kick off at 16:00.
