David Zhvania, former MP in Rada, ex-minister in Ukraine of Georgian origin killed in bombardment

David Zhvania, former MP in the Ukrainian Rada and the country’s ex-Minister for Emergency Situations back in 2005 was killed on Monday in an artillery shelling near the village of Novopokrovka in the Zaporozhye region, close to the checkpoint of the Russian occupiers, adviser of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Anton Gerashenko said in Telegram. 

 

The former MP aged 55 was killed during the bombing in the “gray zone” in Ukraine, Gerashenko wrote on Tuesday. 

 

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24. 

 

Hostilities have been in progress since then.
