The Georgian defence minister Juansher Burchuladze on Friday said his office had signed agreements on the purchase of weapons with Spanish, Polish and Swedish companies.

He pledged “active actions” in this direction in his interview with Imedi TV.

The minister also highlighted his recent visit to Washington and claimed the defence cooperation with the strategic partner was developing “in all formats”.

The Pentagon announced last month it had plans to allocate 33 million USD in security aid for Georgia.
