Georgian law enforcement authorities have arrested a foreign national on charges of illegally importing and possessing particularly large quantities of narcotics, the Interior Ministry said.
Officers from the Central Criminal Police Department's Adjara Main Division, working jointly with the Customs Department of the Revenue Service under the Ministry of Finance, detained the suspect at Batumi International Airport.
During a search of the suspect and their hand luggage, officers seized particularly large quantities of illegal drugs, including MDMA and cocaine.
The offences are punishable by up to 20 years' imprisonment or life imprisonment.
