Opposition politician Dimitri Tskitishvili has expressed concern over the ongoing situation in the Middle East, describing it as a significant and unpredictable regional threat.
Speaking about recent developments on Tuesday, Tskitishvili said that Georgia was currently isolated without reliable partners.
“The main and most dangerous issue today is what is happening in the region. This is not a two-day military operation like last year. We do not yet know the full scale it will reach,” he said.
He added that while Iran’s long-standing economic and political situation has been challenging, there had previously been opportunities for limited economic cooperation, but not at the level and format currently being experienced.
Tskitishvili noted that the latest military escalation was a prolonged operation.
“Unlike last year’s short strike, which temporarily affected Iran’s nuclear program, this is a continuous process, announced as a minimum four-week plan. What will unfold and to what scale remains unknown.”
