Doctors and drivers of the emergency medical service in Tbilisi resumed rallies on Wednesday, demanding increase in salaries, decent working conditions and determination of pension.

Despite a number of rallies held last year and a meeting held at the Ministry of Health, their demands have not changed this year either.

Moreover, as they say, the employer and the state authorities had “punished” them for last year’s protests and they received a smaller bonus at the end of 2021 than in previous years.

The demonstrators claim an average monthly salary for senior doctors with more than 10 years of work experience amounts a bit more than ₾1,000 ($367).
