EP Rapporteur for Georgia Mikser: political compromises are a sign of maturity

EP Rapporteur for Georgia Sven Mikser has stated while in Georgia that political compromises are a sign of maturity and strength. 

 

“This is what Georgia needs to fulfill the European aspirations of its people,” he said at the Georgian state legislature earlier today.  

 

He also stated that Georgian parties were able to have a common vision over the resolution in support of Ukraine, ‘however, the opportunity is now missed.’ 

 

With regard to imprisoned former president Mikheil Saakashvili, Mikser said that everyone has the right to a fair court. 

 

Mikser met with Georgian president Salome Zurabishvili yesterday where the president discussed her initiative on national reconciliation which aims to make peace between Georgian political parties.
