EU introduces new sanctions against Russians for imprisoning Navalny

The European Union imposed sanctions against Russia over the situation with opposition leader Alexei Navalny. Restrictions apply to individual officials.

According to DPA, citing sources, the legal act on European sanctions against Russia has already been adopted in writing. In the near future, the document will be published in the Official Journal of the EU.

Navalny was detained on January 17 after returning to Russia from Germany, where he was treated after being poisoned with a chemical poison.
