The EU has toughened sanctions on Russia following Bucha atrocities in Ukraine.

“We are toughening our sanctions to keep maximum pressure on the Kremlin. The new package includes a ban on coal imports,” European Council President Charles Michel has tweeted.

He said that he thinks that measures on oil, and even gas, would also be needed sooner or later.

Kyiv says that a ban on imports of Russian oil and gas is crucial. However, several European countries, including Germany, are against this.
