A professional training session on the specifics of teaching English as a foreign or second language was held at European University in Tbilisi on Monday, in partnership with the US Embassy in Georgia.

The workshop was led by Michael Vessio, an English Language Specialist at the US Embassy in Tbilisi. The interactive session aimed to enhance participants’ ability to apply effective teaching methods and strengthen their professional competencies.

Attendees took part in interactive activities, discussions and skills-focused exercises designed to be implemented in their own teaching practice.

The training covered:

  • Practical teaching techniques and lesson planning strategies

  • Insights into learning technologies and digital tools for education

  • Interactive problem-solving and networking opportunities

  • Actionable takeaways for immediate classroom application

The session was attended by teachers of English as well as educators teaching Georgian as a foreign language.
