Two Georgian fighters were killed and five wounded during the military actions in Ukraine earlier today, Georgia’s former defence minister Irakli Okruashvili said.

“April 9 was destined for us this way. Two dead and five wounded were added to our side,” Okruashvili wrote on social media.

Today marks the 33rd anniversary of Georgia’s April 9 tragedy, when the Soviet Army crushed a peaceful pro-independence demonstration in Tbilisi, killing 21 and injuring hundreds of civilians.
