Georgia’s former PM under the Georgian Dream (GD) leadership, current head of opposition For Georgia party, has addressed the country’s Chief Prosecutor’s Office to investigate ‘false allegations’ of GD head Irakli Kobakhidze against him on drug consumption.
For Georgia party members say that a ‘fair investigation must hold Kobakhidze accountable for the lie.’
Gakharia has recently presented a negative drug test made in one of Venice clinics. However, Kobakhidze still says that the ex-PM consumes drugs.
Gakharia is now running for Tbilisi mayor.
Kakha Kaladze, incumbent Tbilisi mayor and the GD mayoral candidate in the capital city, was the first who tested for drugs and encouraged his opponents to do the same.
Gakharia, who has been demonised by his former party since leaving premiership and the GD back in February 2021, refused to test for drugs in Tbilisi ‘to prevent a provocation staged against him.’
