Georgia’s former president Mikheil Saakashvili, who is currently a citizen of Ukraine and is holding an official post there, has called for annulment of policemen’s bank loans and increase in their pension to 1,000 GEL.

In his recent live video Saakashvili also encouraged law enforcers not to obey ‘illegal orders’ because the Georgian Dream ‘regime is coming to an end.’

Saakashvili said that he knows ‘many law enforcers have to record people illegally and do the job, like easing traffic movement, which are improper.’

He stated that the law enforcers, who have social guarantees and a good income, will not be involved in corruption.

Earlier this week Saakashvili also called for the country’s armed forces to support the opposition in the October 2 municipal elections.

He pledged that he will return to Georgia for the race despite the high possibility of his arrest.

Saakashvili left Georgia in 2013 and is wanted for several charges in Georgia.

The Georgian Dream government says that if Saakashvili returns, he will be arrested.

However, they believe that Saakashvili, ‘who has made the promise 17 times,’ will not return.
