Georgia’s third president Mikheil Saakashvili, who currently chairs the executive committee of Ukraine’s Reforms Council, has released a ticket on his Facebook account, claiming he will return to Georgia from Ukraine for the evening of October 2, on the day of municipal elections in Georgia.
In his video, Saakashvili said that he is returning ‘for the sake of Georgians and the country’s future’ and not for his political goals.
Saakashvili has been charged with several crimes in Georgia in absentia and will be arrested if he really arrives, the Georgian Dream government officials have stated.
However, the ruling party and the government members are sure Saakashvili will not return.
Saakashvili left Georgia back in 2013 and has not returned to the country since then despite making several pledges.
