A major fire at Tbilisi’s Lilo Mall early Wednesday morning has destroyed around 20 shops, according to eyewitness accounts. The blaze has since been extinguished, Georgia’s Emergency Management Service has confirmed.

The fire reportedly broke out at around 08:30 local time, rapidly spreading through part of the busy commercial complex. Traders said the flames engulfed dozens of stalls before emergency crews brought the situation under control.

The cause of the fire remains unknown and is now under investigation. No injuries have been reported.

Lilo Mall is one of the largest open-air marketplaces in Georgia, attracting both local and regional buyers.
