Foreign trade turnover of goods in Georgia increases by 41% in January

The foreign trade turnover of goods in Georgia (excluding undeclared trade) in January 2022 stood at 1,110.5 million USD, which is 41.2 percent higher than in the corresponding period of the previous year, the National Statistics Office of Georgia said in its preliminary findings. 

Per the data, exports amounted to 331.3 million USD,  increased by 47.6 percent, while imports amounted to 779.1 mln USD, which is 38.7 percent higher than the same period of the last year.

Georgia’s negative trade balance in January 2022 amounted to 447.8 million USD, which is 40.3 percent of foreign trade turnover.

The share of the ten largest trading partners in the total foreign trade turnover of Georgia amounted to 70.4 percent. 

The country’s largest trading partners are Turkey with 168.7 million USD, Russia – 128.6 million USD and Azerbaijan – 122.0 mln USD.
