Former UNM leader Samadashvili joins Lelo party

Former leader of the United National Movement (UNM) party Salome Samadashvili has joined the Lelo opposition party and will occupy the post of the party’s political secretary, Lelo for Georgia has reported. 

Samadashvili, a graduate of Allegheny College, Central European University and American University of Washington, decided to enter parliament after the 2020 elections despite the UNM refusing to do so. 

Under the UNM, in 2005-2007, she served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg and the EU.
