French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen, who will face Emmanuel Macron in the second round of elections on April 24,  is against sanctions on Russian gas and oil, but supports all other sanctions.

 

Speaking  for a local media outlet, Le Pen said she did not want the sanctions to hurt the French people.

 

Centrist Macron and far-right Le Pen were the top two candidates in the first round of Sunday’s vote, garnering 27.8% and 23.2% respectively.

 

Le Pen, 53, is currently a member of the French National Assembly representing Calais, the city on the coast near the UK.
