The ruling Georgian Dream party has dismissed allegations of the head of the opposition-minded Mtavari TV Nika Gvaramia that their cameraman, 26-year-old Levan Ablotia, was attacked at the ruling party Kareli office in eastern Georgia yesterday and was thrown down from the second floor.

GD says that the channel has a recording that the cameraman staggered when he was walking back while filming and fell down himself.

The party has once again accused the United National Movement (UNM) opposition party and “affiliated TV channels’ of sparking election tension.

Ablotia is now in Tbilisi and according to doctors he has a lag injury.

Police are investigating the incident.
