Head of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party Irakli Kobakhidze has slammed the head of the Servant of the People party faction in Ukraine David Arakhamia for his recent statement that the West must impose sanctions on GD founder Bidzina Ivanishvili “for aiding Russians circumvent sanctions.”
Arakhamia also said yesterday that Ivanishvili is a Georgia “Yanukovych.”
“Arakhamia is in radical opposition in Georgia (is affiliated with the United National Movement), while he is in power in Ukraine, holding a high position,” Kobakhidze said, noting that “more will be revealed about Arakhamia after the war.”
Kobakhidze stated that it is Kyiv which has “Yanukovych,” not Georgia, referring to currently imprisoned former President Mikheil Saakashvili who chaired the Executive Committee of the Ukrainian National Reforms Council before being arrested in Tbilisi last year.
He has accused the UNM and its affiliated individuals of “making the fake like the audio recording” which was released yesterday.
The recording was posted on YouTube which was followed by Arakhamia’s comments, entitled “secret emissary from Moscow arrives in Tbilisi.”
The unidentified user said that the Russian oligarch Vladimir Yevtushenkov made two calls to Ivanishvili in March to circumvent sanctions which was imposed on Russia for its aggression in Ukraine, and sent his man to Tbilisi “for business,” claiming that Ivanishvili sent the man to Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.
