Georgia’s Interior Minister Geka Geladze and Central Election Commission (CEC) Chair Giorgi Kalandarishvili have signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at ensuring a safe and peaceful environment during the municipal elections scheduled for 4 October.

The agreement set out additional forms of cooperation and a legal framework for collaboration during the election period, the MIA press office announced on Tuesday. It also provided for joint training sessions and working meetings involving representatives of both institutions.
