Georgian, Uzbek interior ministers sign cooperation deal during Tashkent meeting

Georgian Interior Minister Geka Geladze held a bilateral meeting with Uzbek Interior Minister Aziz Tashpulatov in Tashkent on Saturday, where the two sides discussed expanding cooperation between their law enforcement agencies and signed a new agreement on institutional partnership.
According to Georgia’s Interior Ministry, Geladze is visiting Uzbekistan on an official trip together with a Georgian delegation, hosted by his Uzbek counterpart.
During the meeting, the ministers reviewed key areas of existing cooperation between the law enforcement bodies of the two countries, with particular emphasis on strengthening collaboration in combating crime.
As part of the visit, Geladze and Tashpulatov also signed an agreement on cooperation between the two ministries. The deal aims to enhance bilateral coordination in the prevention, detection, suppression and investigation of crime.
At the end of the meeting, Geladze thanked the Uzbek side for the hospitality and invited Minister Tashpulatov to pay a return visit to Georgia.
