Tbilisi City Court has ruled to keep activist and Coalition for Change member Gela Khasaia in pre-trial detention. The same decision applied to another defendant in the case, Vasil Kerdikoshvili. The ruling was issued by Judge Nato Khujadze.

At Thursday’s hearing, the court examined the admissibility of evidence presented by the prosecution.

Khasaia, a member of the Coalition for Change, was arrested late on September 29. He is accused of physical assault against a citizen and attempting to evade law enforcement. The investigation is being conducted under Article 120 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which pertains to intentional infliction of minor bodily harm.
