Georgia ahead of 190 countries for ensuring 400 tons of humanitarian aid for Ukraine

Georgia has ranked the first among 191 countries for providing 400 tons of humanitarian aid for Ukraine, the National Post of Ukraine, Ukrposhta has reported.
The agency has also named Georgia among the 14 countries which had allowed individuals and legal entities to send free parcels to Ukraine to their preferred recipients.
The Ukraine’s National Post says that Romania was the second with 80 tons of humanitarian aid, followed by Belgium with 40 tons as of April 1.
The Georgian government sent the first portion of humanitarian cargo to Ukraine back in February.
By the decision of Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, with the involvement of state representatives of all regions of the country and the Department of Government Relations with Regions, humanitarian cargo had been collected throughout Georgia and sent to Ukraine a few weeks ago.
The Parliament of Georgia, Tbilisi City Hall, the Patriarchate and the National Food Agency also sent humanitarian aid to the war-torn country.
Thanks to the initiative of the Georgian government, the state agency “Produce in Georgia” has launched a campaign “Produce for Ukraine,” in which products of various needs produced by Georgian companies or purchased by them have been sent to Ukraine in three stages.
Delivery of humanitarian cargo to Ukraine was logistically provided by the Georgian Post in cooperation with the Ukrainian Post.
