Giorgi Zakarashvili, the Ambassador of Georgia to Ukraine, said earlier today that the Georgian delegation had started ‘relevant procedures’ to repatriate the bodies of Georgian citizens, killed during the war in Ukraine, back to their home country.

Zakarashvili noted the body of the fourth Georgian volunteer, who had died in the city of Irpin, had been transported to a Kyiv morgue.

“We have started relevant procedures and hopefully by Monday, the body will be transported to Lviv, then to Warsaw and eventually to Tbilisi,” the ambassador explained.

Two Georgian volunteers, David Ratiani and Gia Beriashvili, who died during the military hostilities near Irpin on March 18, were buried with military honour in Tbilisi on Saturday.
