Georgian Interior Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri says that Russia sent troops and unleashed war against Ukraine.

“It needs no question,” Gomelauri told journalists earlier today, following the restraint of the head of Adjara government Tornike Rizhvadze on the question.

“It is very obvious that Ukraine is not behind the war,” he said.

Gomelauri stated that the Georgian government is doing its utmost to somehow ease the burden of the Ukrainian people.

He has condemned the actions of demonstrators in Tbilisi, who were unsatisfied by the Georgian government’s move not to join international sanctions against Russia, and said that ‘insulting the police is unacceptable.’

Gomelauri stated that everyone who threw some items to police officers at the administration building of the government of Georgia these days and insulted them will be held accountable.
