Georgian parliament speaker leaves for Ukraine

Georgian Parliament Speaker Kakha Kuchava has left for Kyiv, Ukraine to pay tribute to the victims of Babi Yar massacre by Nazi Germany during the World War II. 

 

80 years ago, around 34,000 Jews were lined up and killed in a Babi Yar ravine in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv in the biggest Nazi mass killings during World War II. 

 

Following the mass killing, they were buried in mass graves to be forgotten. 

 

Presidents of Israel and Germany, as well as the speakers of parliaments of Austria, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Slovakia and Poland will also take part in the ceremony.
