Georgian parliamentary delegation to arrive in Kyiv today

The Georgian parliamentary delegation chaired by Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili will arrive in Ukraine today, the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party MP Beka Odisharia stated earlier today.

The delegation will be composed of nine. including Papuashvili.

Odisharia, vice – speakers Davit Sergeenko and Archil Talakvadze would be present from the ruling party in the delegation, while vice speaker from the opposition Citizens party, Levan Ioseliani, Vakhtang Megrelishvili, Anna Natsvlishvili, Khatuna Samnidze and Giorgi Khojevanishvili would be included from the opposition.

“It is very important that the visit, which was finally decided to take place under the leadership of Shalva Papuashvili, has gained a completely different significance. Therefore, we expect absolutely  different results,” Odisharia said.

The MP refrained from speaking about the details of the visit considering security purposes.

The ruling party has slammed the largest opposition faction, the United National Movement (UNM), for its refusal to be part of the delegation, stating that the “party is using Ukraine’s issue only for its narrow and destructive political interests.”

Ioselianin has called on the UNM “to think better” and use the chance.

The UNM says that they will leave for Ukraine separately.
