Georgian PM to meet NATO Sec-Gen Stoltenberg today

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili is scheduled to meet with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Brussels today after which the officials will make statements for journalists. 

Garibashvili is in Brussels to attend the EU’s Eastern Partnership Summit today which has not been held over the past four years. 

Georgia-EU relations, new prospects for cooperation and challenges for Georgia and in the region will be discussed during the summit, Georgia’s representative to the EU Vakhtang Makharoblishvili said. 

EaP is a joint initiative involving the EU, its member states and six Eastern European partners: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.

Launched in 2009, the EaP is a strategic and ambitious partnership based on common values and rules, mutual interests and commitments, as well as shared ownership and responsibility. It aims to strengthen and deepen the political and economic relations between the EU, its Member States and the partner countries, as well as supports sustainable reform processes in countries of Eastern Partnership.
