Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili has condemned a terrorist attack near Kabul airport yesterday which claimed nearly 100 lives, including 13 US soldiers.

“My prayers go to the Afghan civilian and US military victims. The evacuation has to proceed peacefully.  will continue to take its share in support of those handling the evacuation and express solidarity in front of violence,” Zurabiahsvili tweeted.

ISIS-Khorasan branch is behind the terrorist attack which came amid severe tension in the country, following the Taliban’s seizing control of Kabul on August 15.

Thousands of individuals are trying to free the country. The US, UK and Turkish soldiers are stationed at Kabul airport to ensure the safe evacuation of civilians.

The Georgian airport is also used during the evacuation of people from the war-torn country.

The UK stated earlier today that it has suspended the evacuation of people from Afghanistan, adding that between 800-1,000 Afghan citizens involved in the Arap programme have not been evacuated.

The UK also said that about 100-150 British nationals decided to stay in Afghanistan.

The allied forces will complete evacuations from Afghanistan on August 31.
