The United National Movement opposition has said that political forces working together against the government remained united around a single main objective - ending what he described as the rule of Bidzina Ivanishvili.
Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, the party’s regional secretary Giorgi Botkoveli said the unity among opposition actors was “solid” and centred on achieving political change.
“As of today, I can say that the unity is firm. There is one main goal - ending Bidzina Ivanishvili’s regime,” Botkoveli said.
He added that the central plan of the political alliance was to secure victory and “save the country,” stressing that cooperation may eventually extend beyond the current group of opposition parties.
“The main concrete plan of this political unity, as well as other political forces that may not currently be part of it, is victory and the rescue of Georgia. I am confident that even if not today, then tomorrow we will share the same goal and find a common path of struggle,” he said.
Botkoveli stressed that maintaining solidarity among opposition actors would be crucial for achieving political change in Georgia.
He also noted that the broader strategy involved different groups working together on specific issues, saying that a political alliance requires coordinated efforts and specialised teams addressing various areas.
