Giorgi Gakharia on the President’s statement – it was an absolutely adequate statement

Giorgi Gakharia answered media’s questions after opening a new office of the Party for Georgia in Ozurgeti and commented on the President’s statement. “It was an absolutely adequate statement regarding the current events in the country.

Both political assessments and its call for elections to be fair, transparent and democratic in the future.

This is what our international partners expect of us. We must not forget that our desire to becomr a part of a large European family with our tradition, our cultural identity, it is our choice, and therefore it also means that we have to meet certain standards, which of course requires reforms, it requires certain political steps. 

“Unfortunately, the recent decisions and tendencies of the ruling government, so to speak, raise doubts that if we do not step back in the direction of our European, Euro-Atlantic integration, we will stand in one place” – Gakharia said.
