The Head of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, Giorgi Jinchiradze, has visited a settlement for internally displaced people (IDPs) in Zugdidi, western Georgia.
Jinchiradze was accompanied by the State Representative of the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region, Davit Verava, Zugdidi mayoral candidate Davit Kodua, and Abkhazia’s Minister of Health and Social Affairs, Besik Kusidi.
The officials addressed displaced families from the currently Russian-controlled Abkhazia region, listened to their concerns, and outlined government programmes and future plans aimed at improving living standards.
“We continue our meetings with displaced communities across the regions. Today in Zugdidi we familiarised ourselves with the conditions on the ground. For our government, improving housing conditions is important, but equally so are access to education, employment and healthcare. One of our main goals is to give every displaced family from Abkhazia the chance of a dignified life, with the support of local authorities,” Jinchiradze pledged.
