Georgian Education Minister departs for US to attend UN Youth Forum

Georgian Education Minister Givi Mikanadze has departed for an official working visit to the United States, where he is set to participate in the ECOSOC Youth Forum 2026 in New York City.

The Ministry’s press service said Mikanadze will deliver a speech at the forum, which is organised by the United Nations and focuses on youth engagement in global development issues.

During the visit, the Minister is scheduled to meet with education and science leaders from European countries, as well as senior officials from various UN agencies.

As part of his trip, Mikanadze will also visit the Saint Hieromartyr Grigol Peradze Georgian Cultural Center of Pennsylvania, where he will meet with representatives of Georgian Sunday schools operating in the US and present ongoing reforms in Georgia’s education system.

In addition, the Minister will hold bilateral meetings with representatives from the US Department of State and the US Department of Education.
